You’ve Been Reheating Pizza Wrong Your Whole Life

Uff, the past two weeks have been hectic, mainly because of a few extra projects and this little (yet totally adorable) constant distraction. We also had - more than I care to admit - pizza nights followed by reheated leftover pizza lunches. We have all been there, haven't we?

Anyway, this morning, while sipping my coffee and browsing a few of my favourite reads, I realized that I have been reheating my pizza all wrong my entire life! If your reheated pie has a soggy bottom and a chewy crust, you’ve been doing it all wrong too!

But no worries, help is here, according to Roberta’s pizzeria in Brooklyn, we should never reheat our pie in an oven, a microwave or even a grill. We should only use a non-stick frying pan and a little bit of water. Yup, this nifty how-to above explains the process to a T:

Simply, place your pizza slice(s) into a non-stick skillet on medium-low heat and leave it for two minutes until the bottom is crispy. Next place two drops of water in (away from the pizza) and reduce the heat to low. Chuck a lid on the pan and leave the pizza to steam for a minute - allowing the cheese to melt, the tomato sauce to heat up and the bottom/crust to stay crispy. Ta-dah!
