The rescheduled Beschen-Callahan Memorial Lifeguard Races, rained out this past Friday, will take place tonight at 15th Avenue Beach in North Wildwood at 6 p.m.

This annual event is hosted and sponsored by the North Wildwood Beach Patrol.

According to the NWBP's Facebook page, the races were created in 1969 to honor two lifeguards who gave their lives fighting in the Vietnam War - James Beschen and Michael Callahan.
