The event was originally set for this past Friday, but was rescheduled due to inclement weather.
The annual lifeguard competition honors the memory of Captain Frank "Dutch" Hoffman. It is hosted by the Wildwood Beach Patrol and features 15 South Jersey beach patrols in a variety of exercises.
Can the WBP or one of the other local patrols bring the championship home? The Margate Beach Patrol has had a stranglehold on the event in recent years, winners of six straight Hoffman titles.
