Earlier this year, Henry Hargreaves, a Brooklyn-based artist and food photographer came out with his latest project aiming to draw attention to how many US prisoners were killed in 2016 by highlighting a humanizing detail from their lives: their last meals.

By showing a glimpse into the process of execution, he hopes to educate people about the use of the death penalty, even when there is 'uncertainty around so many cases'. I bet, we all have a personal view on it, but putting that aside, and just looking at those meals for what they are, what they should be, what food is to us - it’s shocking and a bit heartbreaking too. Isn’t it?
