First of all, thank you for responding so thoughtfully and generously to Monday's post. There's always trepidation when I let you see my messier side, but as much as I value my own, and our collective, Sturdiness, I think we do ourselves a disservice if we keep all the inevitable real-ness of life behind closed doors. You seem to agree, and I'm so glad we've found ourselves here

Mostly images, today, in lieu of words, because my words are going to be channelled toward answering the wealth of comments on that last post. The conversation there -- on whether, and whom, we might call for help at 3 in the morning, particularly in the context of a very low mood, depression even -- is one I recommend you clear some time to read, if possible. And join in -- the more voices, the better.

With the turn of the calendar, we've moved to grey skies here in Vancouver -- in fact, there's an Arctic Front moving in and a slight possibility of snow this weekend at higher elevations and out in the valley. . . . So if you don't mind, I'll share the last of my fall foliage photos as we wave good-bye to October in the rear-view mirror. . .

 I'm feeling much better today, though, and besides answering comments, I'm hoping to get back to some of my own writing as well as to get myself to the gym for a workout Otherwise, I'm going to be entertaining a houseful -- my son, daughter-in-law, and delightfully lively granddaughter arrive this afternoon to spend a couple of days with us. We're having the two local families join us all for dinner, and I'm guessing the addition of Halloween candies to the grandkids' metabolism might not make for a quiet day -- d'you think?!

Now bring on November. . . We're going to need some hygge, right?
