Wildwood Historical Museum Weekly Update - Sunday, July 15, 2018
Welcome to the first edition of a weekly feature where we will take a look at recent happenings at the Wildwood Historical Society's George F. Boyer Museum - including news, building updates, recent donations to the collection, upcoming events and much more!
Through this collaboration, we aim to encourage our readers to visit and support the museum - a literal treasure trove of artifacts, memorabilia and tens of thousands of photos that, collectively, brings the colorful history of the Wildwoods to life.
The museum's Board of Directors (of which I am a recently-elected member) take great pride in preserving and presenting this heritage for present-day and future visitors alike.
The information that follows was compiled by board member Taylor Henry and volunteer extraordinaire Jackson Betz, both of whom - along with museum manager Pam Bross - donate many weekly hours to furthering the historical society's efforts...

Genuine Boardwalk Souvenirs Available
100 pieces of AUTHENTIC Wildwood Boardwalk wooden blocks have been cured and were made available at the museum's gift shop as of this past weekend. Of course, these are wildly popular items and will go fast.
New Swag!
Brand new Castle Dracula designs have been added to the museum's line of collectible buttons. Others available at our gift shop feature classic amusements, landmarks and celebrity performers of the past.
Help keep Wildwood history alive by picking up one (or a dozen) on your next visit. You can also visit the museum's official store online.
'Gigi" Makes Annual Visit
Staff and visitors were delighted by a visit from Sightseer Tram Cars icon John "Gigi" Gigliotti last Tuesday. Sporting his trademark smile and blue & yellow attire (the Trams' colors!), Gigi still works 17 hours a day on Boardwalk during the summer, serving as the operation's Supervisor & Safety Coordinator.
For more photos and info on Gigi's visit, check out the museum's official Facebook page. You never know who is going to stop by 3907 Pacific, on any given day...
Zaberer's 'Icicles' Donated
Do you remember the decorative "icicles" that once lined the exterior of the legendary Zaberer's Restaurant? A donor recently brought in a piece to add to our ever-growing collection!
Details like this are not just historical, they have the ability to spark the memory's imagination. Where and how will it be displayed? Stop by soon to find out.
Back Roof Completed
Bricks delivered, to be installed soon
Recently-purchased engraved brick pavers have been delivered and will be installed on the sidewalk in front of the museum very soon.
A special "thank you" to all who have ordered. This is a great way to help support the museum's mission.
Additional info on the Buy-A-Brick Campaign is available HERE.
