Morey's Piers to bid farewell to the Flitzer

Morey's Piers announced today that it will bid goodbye to a longtime favorite attraction later this month.

"Flitzer's Final Farewell" will be held on Sunday, September 23 from 1 to 4 PM at Surfside Pier, where the ride has been a fixture since it was installed in 1983.

(In fact, we believe that the Flitzer is the second-oldest Morey's ride in operation after Dante's Inferno, which debuted in 1981 and was re-themed as Dante's Dungeon in 2005.)

The event will pay homage to the Flitzer's origins with a 1980's themed party, featuring an '80's cover band, free rides for patrons, complimentary ride photos and refreshments.

Members of the Morey family, clad in 80's attire, will be the final Flitzer riders.

Guests are also invited to dress up in 80's themed garb, with a "best dressed rider" receiving a season pass for the 2019 season.
