The Marigold Truck

You can tell that this is the season of the Day of the Dead.  Thursday morning as I was walking to Nancy and Fred's hotel to meet them for breakfast, I saw this truck.

The truck was obviously on its way to one of the city's markets, or perhaps a "tianguis", the outdoor markets that are held weekly throughout the city.  The truck was piled high with fruits and vegetables.  Nothing unusual about that.  But look at the heap of marigolds that they were transporting!  Marigolds... known as "cempasuchil" here... are THE flower of the Day of the Dead.
